    About Me

    You are The Moon

    Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

    What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

Barbara, you are Balanced-brained That means you are able to draw on the strengths of both the right and left hemispheres of your brain, depending upon a given situation. When you need to explain a complicated process to someone, or plan a detailed vacation, the left hemisphere of your brain, which is responsible for your ability to solve problems logically, might kick in. But if you were critiquing an art opening or coming up with an original way to file papers, the right side of your brain, which is responsible for noticing subtle details in things, might take over. While many people have clearly dominant left- or right-brained tendencies, you are able to draw on skills from both hemispheres of your brain. This rare combination makes you a very creative and flexible thinker. The down side to being balanced-brained is that you may sometimes feel paralyzed by indecision when the two hemispheres of your brain are competing to solve a problem in their own unique ways.

    Croning

Monday, January 14, 2008, 08:49 AM PST [General]

Saturday evening, 1/12, was the evening of my croning ritual.  It was held at my home with Joan as Priestess, Brenda, Genevieve, Shannon, Brenna, Nicholle, Tylee, Brooke, and Beth in attedance.  I was sorry that Sandy, Nancy, Virginia and Lilith were not in attendance but we know how life throws us curves every now and then.  We had a fabulous meal first then went out side and held it around my fire pit with a nice fire going.  It had really been a rather nice day but once the sun went down it did chill quite a bit......for here anyway.  They all had such nice things to say and lovely pages for my book.  After the ritual we went in and had Brenda's marvelous home made cheese cake.  Oh my, that was fabulous!  I am blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.

I guess I should add that I will continue on with my studies at Cherry Hill Seminary.  I feel it's important to the "validity" of our religion to have people formally trained.  There are far too many hey I read a book on this witchcraft stuff so now I'm Grand High Puba Mighty Priestess of the blah, blah, blah.....!

    Discouraged!

Tuesday, November 6, 2007, 08:50 AM PST [General]

Wow, this whole pagan community here is really disappointing!  I shut down the coven, shut down the discussion group, my friend has shut down 2 large events that were planned, no one cares to show up!  What is with this?  I wanted to get involved with the community  but have now changed my mind.  I will attend my friends esbats, sabbats, and the Witches Moon events and then stay home the rest of the time!  It's sad.

    The Charge of the Crone

Saturday, May 12, 2007, 10:16 AM PST [General]

Since I am in the planning phases of my Croning Ritual I've been doing a bit of research.  I found this and wanted to post it!

    The Charge of the Crone
    by: gypsy

Hear the words of the Grandmother of Time:
She who has been known as
    Hecate, Erishkagel, Cerridwen, Kali-Ma,
    Anna, Perenna, Spider Woman,
    and many other names
    - some feared, and some loved,
    but none ever ignored.
She it is who brings wisdom and
    the awareness of eternity.

She has been the Maiden, and remembers that joy.
She has been the Mother, and recalls that pleasure.
    But age has changed her,
and taught her the mysteries of
the Wheel that is ever turning,
the Wheel that is life, death, and rebirth.
She is the whirling tornado, the erupting volcano,
the rising tidal wave, the trembling of the earth's crust.
With age comes an understanding of the past,
and a glimpse of the future.
For, in the turning of the Wheel,
    the past is the future,
and the future is the past.
She is the Learned One, the Teacher,
    the Bringer of Inevitable Change.

She is the Dark of the Moon, the Hidden One,
the invisible unknown that lies ahead.
But do not fear her for she is not malicious,
and her touch, however harsh, is love.

Only in ignorance is she scorned and reviled.
Those who do not know her,
parody her as the ugly old woman
whose powers were said to blight crops
and sour the milk in the cow.
It is fear that turns her age into abomination,
    her wrinkles into hideous deformity,
and her voice into an evil and manipulative cackle.
For those who sought power over the earth were afraid
to face her wisdom and her unalterable truth.

But in the old days, we sat at her feet to learn the most ancient lore.
From her came the knowledge of the healing herbs,
and the chants and songs that shaped our lives.
She sat in honour at our councils, our marketplaces, in our homes.
She governed our governing, and interpreted our laws.
She gave focus to our changing seasons.
She was our teacher, our oracle, our promise of rebirth.

Come, honour her as of old,
listen now to the words of the Wise One,
    the ancient Seer, the Crone!
